reminiscing

my mom made me clean out my room at her house. saaad. she's not holding on to my stuff anymore:

.complete collection of nancy drew and young girls in history books
.yearbooks
.hats and hats and hats
.sweaters
.lettermans jacket
(can you BELIEVE i had one of those? sooo 80's but i wanted one i lettered in three areas, none athletic)
.trinkets
.stuffed animals
.tons more books
. clothes
. unfinished jewlery, sewing and other projects i began and abandoned

i couldn't believe it. i felt like i was getting kicked out for the first time in my life. haha. i guess now that im married i should get over it. mom said it will always be my room and there is many a baby portrait and wedding portrait to prove that, but i have a sneaking suspicion trevor will want to sleep on a real bed instead of the hideaway bed downstairs when he gets home from his mission......

one thing i have kept at my mother's house for safekeeping was my wedding dress. i brought it to its true home and when i unzipped the cover, i cried just a wee little bit. it was a simple dress - very close to what i had imagined my whole life. i love this dress. i designed it and i wouldn't have done a thing different. the lace is incredible and has subtle daisies on it:

{when i was 14 i imagined having a full on daisy wedding including daisies in my hair. when i started planning my wedding i scoffed at the ridiculous idea and then as i went about planning i noticed them starting to creep up everywhere: wedding lace, small cake details, antique wrist piece, etc.}

our photog cindee is going to do our family portraits once trevor gets home and i am stoked. we checked her website today to pleasantly discover we were featured on the website.

(check under galleries: weddings)

sigh* the only thing better than marriage is getting married, wearing a beautiful dress and carrying around a bouquet.

i've said it before and ill say it again: i sure wish i had eaten that divine foooooooooood tho.
