we finally took our quick vacay to yellowstone! we have been wanting to go since we met each other and we finally did.
first we stopped in IF to visit the Idaho Falls Temple and take about a billion pictures (it was a perfect day for them)
then we went to byu-i in rexburg and saw all the amazing updates there! that campus is crazy with all the great new improvements.
first things was first: byui bookstore for chocolate covered and fruit flavored gummy bears.
we met up with some friends and missed others (sorry!!)
we saw lots of crazy rednecks in our time in eastern idaho, montana and wyoming. here is one of my favorites:
ok ill level with you: the food isn't that great in west yellowstone. we did however eat and one of my childhood memory places: the running bear. our pancakes were incredible
(i don't even like pancakes but tried the buckwheat with blueberries and it made me wanna cry it was so good)
my favorite bit of decor was the bear hanging from the ceiling:
some more fun decor from the ride up:
bear world: a tad depressing but the two bears fought each other and that was kind of amazing
in the park: first thing we saw was an eagles nest:
there were about a million and 2 people at old faithful:
one of the highlights of the trip was when we were just walking around dowtown west yellowstone. we wandered into a silver shop and i saw all this amazing native american jewelry i loved. i tried on all these gorgeous turquoise and coral rings. they fit me perfectly - sam totally shocked me when he asked me which was my favorite and then told the lady we would take it. i was over the moon. that sam, boy he is wonderful. im obsessed with the ring:
piece' de resistance:
old faithful was insane. i waited an hour and 20 minutes for that unfaithful thing to go off but boy was it worth the time and wicked wicked painful bright red angry sunburn i got as a result. the water gushed so high!! it was even bigger and better than i remembered.
i love roadtrips with samuel.
p.s. we know the correct use of moose. it was a joke.
it was so awesome seeing you both! ps. i'm loving the pic of the super hawt man busting out his sexyvibe... ahhh... home!
ReplyDeleteI love Yellowstone! Ryan and I went last summer when I was 6 1/2 months pregnant. Lets just say, I mayyyyyy have complained 98% of the time becuase of all the driving and walking, BUT needless to say, it was fun!!! Old Faithful is unnnnnnnreal. You can't describe it. Just gotta see it.
