holly jolly

phew-wee. christmas this year was the best sam and i had ever had in our lives! we stayed mostly to the schedule and boy was it ever fun!!

christmas eve we had our annual open house (good job tessa and mom on the decorations), read the nativity, opened one gift each and then played games.

waking up with alexa was the best ever. she was so tired at first and then saw a light downstairs. she pointed to it and got an excited look on her face. when she came downstairs and saw all the toys you could see in her face that it suddenlly dawned on her that this was about the. best. thing. that. had ever happened to her!! she ran from toy to toy not knowing quite where to go first. it was so fun to watch her little kids seriously make christmas the best.

alexa helped each person unwrap their presents. she had so much fun with all the wrapping and would squeal every time a present was opened.

sam and then went to look at our gifts. one of my favorites was a signed painting of manhattan. it even has the freedom tower drawn into it! i could pick out some of my favorite buildings and places i have been. it was very accurate.

taylor also got us the Office version of Clue. SO FUN. I love clue and The Office makes it hilarious.

after finishing christmas with the osbornes we hurried to change and get ready for the Hegstrom breakfast.

but first i wanted sam and i to open our presents to each other - i couldn't wait. My favorite gifts from Sam was a beautiful teal sweater wrap, orange pointy shoes and some sephora LOVE. (blinggin' gold nail polish, perfume and couple of other items.) Sam did good! Sam's favorite present was this sa weeeeeeeeet leather messenger bag I got for like 80% off on overstock.com. It has a laptop compartment so he can use it at school.

So much fun and boy was the food good!! The famous Christmas Breakfast casserole was brought out and let me just say, it will change your life.

then it was nap time and boy was i tired. i slept all afternoon and it felt so good. we drove back to nampa for sunday dinner.

i couldn't wait for the kids to come over and as soon as that door opened Ally and Logan were rushing through the door to tell me all the presents that Santa got them. I loved it!! I love those kids so much. Baby Katelyn was adorable in her red vest with white trim.

We esspecially missed Holly, Chris, and the kidlins: Braden and Regan. (We love you!!!). Dinner was amazing and it was so fun to hang out with everybody and chat. We got to watch the Umina's annual Christmas video with all the pics of the kids throughout the year. Such a good idea and totally adorable. My favorite part was little Ally singing the star spangled banner.

Then it was off again to the osbornes to see them before they left for Coeur d'Alene. we uh *cough* ate more food and the boys all played with their flying toy helicopters.

sam and i went home loaded down with all the leftovers since my family was leaving. We have queso dip, fruit, pastries, turkey, rolls and tons more! We are set for like two weeks.

Sam and I went to bed very tired and very happy. Sam played with his helicopter until it ran out of batteries.

It was truly the perfect day.
